On Earth Day, CD1 provided an update on the MacArthur Lake Stormwater Capture Project — a $40 million investment improving water quality and bringing new amenities to a park that serves as the front yard for thousands of families.
This builds on the $27 million they’ve secured and invested in Westlake–MacArthur Park neighborhood advancing coordinated public health and safety efforts that has already saved lives, removed tens of thousands of hazardous items off the streets, and kept dozens of residents housed.
The purpose of the project is to capture rainwater and turn it into lake water. The project will also add a pedestrian bridge, walking paths, trees, a water feature and more shade. Construction is due to begin this fall and be completed at the end of 2028.
