We recently launched the MacArthur Park Neighborhood Leadership Group, expanding the promotora model led by Community Transformation Collective at Para Los Niños. Promotoras are trusted community leaders who connect neighbors to resources, share critical information, and help ensure investments reach those who need them most. Through this effort, we’re also building local leadership by equipping residents with the tools and opportunities to shape decisions in their community.
In MacArthur Park, this work is supported by real investments:
- Clean Teams covering 20+ miles each week
- Peace Ambassadors focused on violence prevention
- Overdose response and hazardous item disposal
- Street Medicine teams
- Over $200,000 in rental assistance, with nearly half supporting MacArthur Park and Westlake residents
This is what a care-first approach looks like in practice, and we’re looking forward to continuing this progress alongside the residents of the area.
