CD1 reports: Phase 1 of the Reconnecting MacArthur Park (RMAP) project, an effort to reconnect the park across Wilshire Boulevard, officially wraps this month following more than a year of community engagement and over 2,500 survey responses. The recently held Gallery Walk highlighted key findings and the community-informed “Neighborhood Transformation” concept, which will guide the next phase.
Phase 2 is set to begin in Summer 2026 and will focus on environmental review, early design, and continued community input. In the meantime, we’re building momentum with interim activations like “Weekend Play Streets” to reimagine how this space can serve the community. On July 10th and 11th, we will be shutting down Wilshire Blvd from Alvarado to Hoover for a free open streets community event, featuring screenings of the World Cup! Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
